Brooke Penelope Davis (Sophia Bush) has never been the center of attention in the story line. It has always been about Lucas Scott (Chad Michael Murray) and Peyton Sawyer (Hilarie Burton). But since the two characters married and moved out of Tree Hill, the plot revolved around Brooke and Julian (Austin Nichols).
While the story revolved around Peyton's "people always leave", Lucas' heart disease, Nathan's back problems, Rachel's drug addiction, I think it was really Bush's character that was pinned to the ground: she has a mother who she never seemed to please, a dad she never talked to after the divorce with her mother, facing a physical attack at her own store, two failed adoptions, giving up her company, and the heartbreaking news that she can't get pregnant.
With that being said, I think this is an excellent episode to "reward" Brooke Davis for being the warm-hearted girl she is, despite her being promiscuous in high school. It was a definite tear-jerker, that made me fall in love with the series more. In this episode, nothing went wrong -- it was a happy ending; which is unusual in Tree Hill. Can't wait for more.
