I said I would update my blog once the term finishes and I did. I've written a few blog entries about my latest product discoveries and whatnot.. But somehow, I don't feel the drive to write something more personal. I feel like I've lost inspiration or something. Or maybe it could be that I've been so preoccupied these days that I don't have the leisure to sit down and write about whatever emotional shit hole I'm going through.
I guess so much has happened to me in the last three months that I don't even know where to start or how to finish. If it's finished at all. I don't want to be a stone but at the same time I also want to escape all of these emotions. I hate having a girl heart!!!
Anyway, tonight is my last night of rest. School's resuming tomorrow and I've got no time to lose. Last term was a term full of minor subjects and I hated it. Everyone thinks taking up minor subjects all term is a breeze but it's not. Actually, it's such a hassle considering you have to produce a lot of output, projects and reports. So I'm actually happy that next term, I'm going to start on my foundation subjects. It's going to be a heavier load, but I'm used to it anyway (hehehe). I will still try to update as much as I can, since I'm going to school from home (instead of a condo) this time.

Curiosity killed the cat
As most of you might already know, I'm taking up Travel and Tourism as my final course in college. Having to explain this to everyone who asks is such a hassle. What really happened was I originally had taken up Human Biology in the hopes of becoming a doctor. With lack of focus and probably determination as well, I failed a few math and chemistry subjects. I wanted to shift to International Studies major in European studies but my mom advised me to take up a business course instead and that's what got me into Marketing Management. It was a whole different thing altogether but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I breezed through four terms without any unit failures so that was a good thing until I took up Business Calculus and Financial Management in one term. I suck at math so bad and it probably isn't a good enough excuse for most of you, but I guess it's the reason why I failed both. And it's also the reason why I decided to transfer schools. I had failed so many units already and I thought to myself that I didn't want to wait till the school kicked me out. At least transferring schools was a decision I had to make by choice.
Anyway, I was supposed to take up Consular in Diplomatic Affairs which is closer to International Studies but decided against it because I felt it wasn't broad enough of a course and industry to take. I resulted into taking BS-Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management major in Travel in Tourism. When I tell my friends this, they often ask me: "So ano ka na in the future? Taga-tour, ganon?" (What will you be in the future? A tourist guide?)
For the record, being in the Tourism industry doesn't only mean becoming a tourist guide. It means arranging, managing and organizing events. It may also mean venturing into the advertising and marketing world. I can even become a hotelier. Tourism is one of the things that makes this country's economy run. When you guys go on vacations locally or abroad, that's tourism. Attending events and seminars in the country or in foreign lands is also tourism.
Seriously, how can so many people know little about this? Having to explain it to everyone feels like I'm lecturing an 8-year old kid.

Knowledge is power and power is corrupt, so study hard and stay evil
We need only to open our minds to hear our own wisdom. - Buddha
It's crazy how time flies by so fast, it just knocks you over when you least expect it -- and I'm not even doing anything. I should be having the time of my life really. Sounds cliche but it's so true when they say you'll never know what you have until it's gone. Honestly, taking a break from college is no joke. I've made my way through three years but I took everything for granted. I cut my classes, and I didn't do my very best to get the highest of grades I knew I was capable of achieving. I just marched into my classrooms, some of them I even had to drag myself to sit into for an hour and a half. Imagine, just an hour and a half devoted to learning something new everyday and I had to drag myself into it. I should've looked at it as some sort of blessing, but I didn't and that was clearly a mistake. When I get back to school, taking the course that I really want to take, I guarantee that I will be better than I ever was. It's just such a bummer that I happen to do this only now but it's never too late when you're talking about your future and the thing you really want to be doing for the rest of your life.

Of loud noises and fireworks
It's officially the second day of January, 2k11. I still can't believe another year has gone by. But just like they say... If you're happy, then you don't need to change :-)
Anyway, I haven't gotten the chance to upload the pictures from New Year's Eve so I'll blog about that next time. Forgive me for wanting to talk about something personal here.
So for the last three years that I've been in college, it was nothing but a blast. It was like a steady roller coaster ride -- not too many loops and not too scary, but I'd throw my hands up in the air and scream when there's a plunge. When I was a kid, I always dreamt about being in the tourism industry cause both my parents are in that field. At present, they are known quite well in the tourism industry and for that, I'm treated nicely. I wanted to work in a five-star hotel just like my papa did because it carries class and prestige. But more than that, I wanted to be a flight stewardess. All I had to do was be a waitress in the air and look pretty all the time. But of course, I'm not tall enough to become a stewardess in a good airline company.
Second, I wanted to be a doctor. I've always wanted to be a pediatrician and watching Grey's Anatomy and House pushed me to want to become a neurosurgeon. In the four universities that I've applied to for college, I put in a pre-med course as my first choice. Eventually, I got into De LaSalle University as a Human Biology major. I was so proud of myself especially after I've learned that the university only accepts one hundred students who apply in that course in a year. For a year and a half, I studied Zoology, Anatomy, Chemistry, and more Chemistry. The turning point for me came when I failed Botany. My mom said I had two choices, get out of the course before I get kicked out of the school or continue the course in a different school. Of course I chose to shift out. It was a heartbreak, but I eventually learned how to deal with it.
I wanted to take International Studies major in European Studies but my mom didn't allow me. Instead, she wanted me to take a business course. So that's how I ended up being a Marketing Management student. I'd have to say, the course is definitely easier than my previous course. But naturally, I had to take up business subjects that also required staying up late: Accounting, Economics, Law, etc. This last term, I've had to take up Calculus and Financial Management and I've gotta say that took me out of my comfort zone way more than what I would have wanted. It was so far out that I have decided to take a course that I really want. It's called Consular of Diplomatic Affairs and it's offered by the De LaSalle - College of Saint Benilde. I haven't said a word to many people and I wanted to keep it in my system for as long as I can. But I felt that without writing about it, I wasn't being honest to myself.
With that said, I'm taking time off next term so I'll have a lot of free time on my hands. I don't really want to be a bum so I'm thinking of applying to work at Starbucks or something... I'll think of something, I always do.
Anyway, I celebrated New Year's Day with my family of course! :-) We met up with some of our relatives and had dinner at Kabisera, The Fort. We had coffee in Seattle's Best afterwards. I ordered their new Mint Chocolate Javakula made with Oreo Cookies -- it was delicious! But it's not what I would've usually ordered; I felt like it was more of a chocolate drink with coffee rather than a coffee drink with chocolate. Anyway, here's a picture :-)

Also, to make up for not having to post the 12/31/10 and the 1/1/11 photos, here's a picture of me in my pj's with my make up still on! Sweet dreams! :-)
